About the role
A small software development company in Canada is hiring for this role. The business needs a fractional controller to run its finance function on a part-time contract basis. You will own the books, the month-end close and the cost records that support SR&ED and funding agreements.
What you'll do
- Maintain the books and lead the month-end close, including monthly reports and reconciliations.
- Manage payroll, invoicing and payment follow-up.
- Review cash and accounts receivable weekly, and maintain cash flow and hiring forecasts.
- Prepare GST filings and coordinate tax and year-end work.
- Keep project and labour cost records audit-ready for SR&ED and funding agreements.
What you bring
- Experience maintaining the books and leading month-end close.
- Hands-on payroll, invoicing and receivables follow-up.
- GST filing experience and comfort coordinating tax and year-end work.
- Familiarity with SR&ED and funding agreement cost records.
- Skill building cash flow and hiring forecasts.
